HOPKINS-COUTURE, Betty Alice - Entered peacefully into rest in San Leandro on November 29, 2005. She was 83. Born in Rigby, ID on October 6, 1922, Betty had been a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. A 60-year resident of San Francisco before moving to San Leandro a few years ago, Betty enjoyed being a homemaker. She had worked downtown at the San Francisco Emporium for 17 years. Afterwards she worked as a bookkeeper for the St. Francis Parking Garage and retired after 15 years. Devoted to her family, Betty loved to travel and enjoy life. She loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed riding horses. She will truly be missed. Betty is survived by her beloved brother, Burgis W. Seaquist of San Lorenzo. She leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews, Joann and Joe Adams, Byron and Karen Seaquist, Lois and Vince Poxleitner, Margaret and Dick Henning, Mary Louise and Lon Bagley, Larry and Carla Seaquist, Judy Larson, and Ed and Linda Bailey. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Ruth Mary Seaquist; cousin, Merle Davis and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Andrew Hopkins and Joe Couture, and also her brothers, Robert Seaquist and Roger Seaquist. Visitation for Betty will be on Saturday from 10 am to Noon at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. Funeral services will begin at noon at the chapel.
