Dorothy Elaine SHIPE

LaBOUNTY, DOROTHY ELAINE "Dot" (Age 74) -- Of Fort Washington, MD, died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at her residence. Born August 4, 1929 in Rectortown, VA to the late Walter Raymond and Ruth Shipe; she is preceded in death by her husband: William LaBounty. She is survived by two sisters Virginia Thomas of Orlando, FL and Kay Pater of Rhodesville, VA; two brothers Walter Raymond Shipe, Jr. and his wife Ada Shaw Shipe of Remington, VA, William Shipe of Montross, VA; four children Gary Waters of Fort Washington, MD, Doris Miller of South Bend, IN, Linda Tate of Fort Washington, MD and Patricia Tice of Millsboro, DE; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving friend of 30 years: William Deaner of Fort Washington, MD. The family will receive friends 12 noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2005 at LEE FUNERAL HOME, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Interment Remington Cemetery in Remington, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Capital Hospice in memory of Dorothy E. LaBounty. Published in The Washington Post on 12/3/2005.
