Albert J. SIMARD

Albert J. Simard -- Albert was born in Montreal, Canada Oct 4th 1928 to Raymond and Katherine Simard. He was one of six brothers, Raymond, Harney, Arthur, Paul, Gene and Albert. He was a sweet tempered man, always kind to everyone he met. His early years were spent in Montreal with his parents and brothers. He attended St. Leo's Academy and Loyola College. He became noted for his speed on the cinder track, establishing records in 880 yard dash. He won the coveted Father Records Aggregate Trophy. He later joined his parents in California, along with his brother Harney. He volunteered for the US Army and served several years. While in California, he met the love of his life, Lucille Dunn of Quebec, Canada and were married for 40 years, until she died 1999. Their love for each other was unmatched. Albert lived in Upland for many years, where enjoyed the company of many friends. He is survived by his brothers, Harney Simard and his wife, J ulie of Lakeside California and Gene Simard and his wife Nan, of Seattle, WA, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. A small memorial will be held at the Gipson Senior Center, Dec. 9th at 1pm in Upland. Published in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin on 12/4/2005.
