Albert Walker Sirois -- Memorial service for Albert Walker Sirois will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at Caldwell & Maloney Funeral Home, 3571 Ridgewood Ave., Port Orange. Mr. Walker ended his courageous battle with mesothelioma lung cancer on Dec. 28, 2005, at Florida Memorial Hospital, with family members by his side. He was born Feb. 3, 1943, in Boston, Mass., and lived in Farmington and Portsmouth, N.H., until his retirement when he moved, with his wife Linda, to South Daytona in October 2003. Walker served in the U.S. Navy four years and retired after 25 years with the Portsmouth Navel Shipyard in 1994, and was later employed with Saint Theresa's Catholic Parish in Rye, N.H. He was a member of the Portsmouth Elks Lodge #97, where he served as Exalted Ruler from 1993-1994 and as a trustee thereafter aud a member of the Masons, Strafford Lodge #29 Dover, N.H. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother and a best friend to a world of people. His whole life revolved around helping others, never asking for a return favor. He enjoyed kayaking, bicycling, golfing and spending time with his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 23 years, Linda; his mother and father, Albert and Louise Haskell, Daytona Beach; daughter, Heidi Cowoski; two granddaughters, Cherise and Hannah, Port Orange; daughter, Holly (Derek) Lucia, Loudon, N.H.; sister, Cynthia (George) Scott, Daytona Beach; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Ronald Fabian, Dover, N.H.; niece and nephew, Christine and Stephen Fabian, Dover, N.H.; aunt Priscilla Couture, Rochester, N.H.; and his devoted pets, Eloise & Domino.
