Dorothy M. Blanchard, 73, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, with burial in the church cemetery.She is survived by four sons, Stewart and wife, Bernadette, of Bourg, Kerry and wife, Patricia, of Bourg, Durle Sr. and wife, Dalia, of Chauvin, and Leland and wife, Norma, of Gonzales; one brother, Johnny Smith of Montegut; one sister, Florence "ToTo" Domangue of Houma; 13 grandchildren, Mark Blanchard, Melanie Naquin, Kayla Liner, Kerry Blanchard Jr., Dia Blanchard, Dena Naquin, Jesse Rogers, Dana Rogers, Durle Blanchard Jr., Louis Blanchard, Tori Blanchard, Brittany Blanchard and Lillian Blanchard; and 10 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace (Pierre) Blanchard; her parents, David Smith and Bernice Lirette; her step-father, Sylvester Lirette; and two grandchildren, Tracey Blanchard and Christopher Rogers.She was a homemaker, a member of the Woodmen of the World and was a beloved mother and grandmother.She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
