MacKAY, Liz R.N., BscN. (nee Chayko), After a long hard fought battle, Liz peacefully passed at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday, February 7, 2004 age 40 years. Loving wife of Craig MacKay of Thorold and loving mother of Karalyn Van A ken and Cameron MacKay. Precious daughter of Carol and Jim Chayko and step-daughter of Donna. Cherished sister of Michael (Holly) Chayko of Guelph and Catherine Chayko of Thorold. Dear daughter-in-law of Wilfred and Beverly MacKay and sister-in-law o f Dean MacKay (Kelly Austin) and Jill (Gary) Cameron, all of Nova Scotia. Beloved aunt of Lyndsay and Kevin Anderson, Nicholle and Rachel Chayko, Chase and Bryden Cameron. Also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Liz's passion was her work within the Niagara Health Care System and presently she was a Nurse Manager in ICU/Emergency/Respiratory Services at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. ~ Mom did everything God put her on this Earth to do and much, much more. ~ It's her time to be the angel and watch over each of us in our lives. ~ She will always remain in our hearts and souls. ~ Her love was her children. The family will receive their friends at the KARL A. HAMMOND FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church (corner of Queen Street and Sullivan Avenue), Thorold on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. The Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold. Th e Vigil for Liz will be Celebrated at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Breast Cancer Research Fund, Canadian Down Syndrome Society or the Hospitals Foundation would be appreciated by the family. 2/9/2004- ID3416394 - St. Catharines Standard
