Clara Marie STOTZ

Clara Marie (Stotz) Pepin, a long time resident of Valhalla, NY, passed away June 22, 2005, at the age of 102. Clara was born January 15, 1903 in New York City to the late Jacob and Marie Stotz. She was raised and educated in Hawthorne, NY and continued on to Business School. She was employed as an executive secretary at Ogus, Rabinovich and Ogus, a wholesale hat company. Along with family members, she also worked at “The Stand“, a family business located at the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Columbus Avenue in Valhalla, NY, where homemade pies and other baked goods were sold. Clara also cared for numerous foster children and the elderly for many years. On October 14, 1931, Clara married her beloved husband of 58 years, Winfield Pepin. He predeceased her on April 2, 1990. Clara's two sisters Louise Peterson and Lily West, as well as her two brothers William Stotz and Charles Stotz predeceased her. Clara is the loving mother of Carol Eby of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and Laura Greene and her husband Keith of Brewster, NY. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Kristin Barton, Brian Eby, Winfield Greene and Maxwell Greene; and two greatgrandchildren Sean Barton and Ossie Barton. Clara will be remembered for her compassion and love of children. She will be dearly missed. Visitation will be Friday, 4-8 PM at Hawthorne Funeral Home, where Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 10 AM. Interment at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Clara loved her sister-inlaw and dear friend, the late Olga Stotz.
