Maribeth Renee Doucette, 59, completed her struggle with cancer at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2005. Maribeth died at home with her husband Bill by her side. Today she is without pain and filled with joy in the eternal presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Maribeth was born Feb. 26, 1946 in Cook County, Minn., the daughter of Clarence Strand and Helen Strand Sundquist, and granddaughter of Carl and Randi Thoreson and John and Anna Strand. She was a 1964 graduate of Cook County High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Maribeth married Richard Nelson of Lutsen, Minn., in 1966. They had three children, Joel, Noelle, and Monique. Maribeth and Bill Doucette were married March 15, 1996. Together they ran the Snuggle Inn Bed and Breakfast in Grand Marais and most recently the Blue Moose Gallery and Garden Shop, also in Grand Marais. Maribeth is survived by her mother, Helen Sundquist; husband, Bill; brother, Bruce (Pat) Strand; son, Joel (Crystal) Nelson; daughters, Noelle Nelson and Monique (Eric) Albright; stepchildren, Lara (Jon) Gantz, and Sean (Olga) Doucette; grandchildren, Brady, Haley, Wyatt, and Jordan Nelson, Joshua, Mya, and Carter Albright; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends and acquaintances.
