Frances T. SWOBODA

Frances T. Cyr, 89, formerly of 235 W. Greenville St., Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.She was born February 20, 1916, in the town of Tilden to Catherine (Zwiefelhofer) and Frank Swoboda. She grew up in the town of Tilden and attended St. Charles Grade School. She was then employed at the Chippewa Woolen Mill.Frances married Howard “Buck” Cyr on Jan. 7, 1946, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. She resided in Chippewa Falls since her marriage and was a long-time member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.She was employed at the Chippewa Shoe Company for 18 years, retiring on May 25, 1984. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy (Ken) Girard of Plymouth, Minn.; three sons, Steve (Linda) Cyr and Dan Cyr, all of Chippewa Falls and Chuck (Jane) Cyr of Elk Mound; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Cyr of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Angie (Emanuel) Schwartz and Marcella (Lawrence) Beaudette, all of Chippewa Falls. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Cory, Libby, Amy, Emily, Amanda, Matt, Jeff, Jake, Keri, Jenny, Erin, Dawn, Nathan, Joshua, Claire and Dominic. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband on August 25, 1982; her parents; one son, Dave Cyr; and four brothers, Harold, Charles, Leo and Emil Swoboda.A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Edmund Doerre celebrating the funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and until 10 a.m. Saturday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls.
