BOSTON -- Gilda Cormier of East Taunton died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at New England Medical Center after a long illness. She was the wife of Ernest A. Cormier; they were married 49 years. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Gouveia) Telles. She lived in East Taunton 32 years and was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She was educated in New Bedford and graduated from Kinyon-Campbell Business School. Mrs. Cormier enjoyed traveling, trips to Lincoln Park and Mohegan Sun, shopping and being with her family. Survivors include her widower; a daughter, Sharon Sheehan of East Taunton; a brother, James Telles of Fairhaven; two sisters, Mary Durst of West Roxbury and Lillian King of Beaufort, N.C.; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Russell Cormier and the sister of the late Linda Braz. Her funeral will be at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville, with a Mass at 9 at Holy Family Church, East Taunton. Burial will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton.
