LAMAIRE, Dorothy (Tessier), was born in Canada on September 14, 1914, one of 17 children. She died on September 16, 2005, two days after celebrating her 91st birthday. Dorothy settled in Connecticut where she worked at a variety of jobs and raised her family. She was married to Raymond LaMaire for 56 years until his death in 1992. Dorothy lived in Florida for 15 years and at the age of 89, relocated to a retirement community in Tucson, Arizona. She became a member of the "Fountain Knitters" and made over 50 sweaters for needy school children. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Eloise Waters of Palm Coast, Florida and Lindy Levin of Los Angeles. She leaves four grandchildren, Thomas Cassille of Tucson, Michael Cassille of Tampa, Laurie Samoluk of Seattle, and Emily Levin of Los Angeles. Of the 17 Tessier children, one sister, Lorraine Judice, lives in Sun City, Arizona. Dorothy will be missed by all her family, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, old friends from Florida and new friends from Tucson. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and care givers of Mountain View Retirement Village and to VistaCare for all their loving support. Memorial services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, at 8090 N. Northern in Tucson, Arizona at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2005. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
