Clinton THEROUX

Clinton Theroux, 87, our dear father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, died Monday, October 31, 2005 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Clinton Paul Theroux was born February 22, 1918 at Terrebonne, MN, the son of Joseph and Leah (Quesnell) Theroux. He grew up on the family farm near Terrebonne, attended country school, graduating from LaFayette High School, class of 1939. He served in the United States Navy, during World War II, on the USS Ranger. He achieved the rank of E5. He was stationed at Manteo, NC and Oakland, CA. After the service, he worked for Northern States Power in Red Lake Falls for 16 years. On June 16, 1941, he married Pauline Robidoux at St. Joseph's Church, Red Lake Falls. They were married for 52 years. He bought the bakery in Red Lake Falls in 1959 and called it ""Princess Bake Shoppe', named after his loving wife, Pauline. They sold the bakery in 1971. In 1974, they purchased the Hartz Store in Plummer, MN and operated it until 1976, while in Plummer Clinton served as mayor. In 1976, they moved to Crookston, MN, where he managed the VFW and worked at Hardee's. He was a member of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Crookston, a former member of St. Joseph's, Red Lake Falls, also a member of Crookston American Legion and VFW. Survived by children, Douglas (Bonnie), Weaverville, NC, Valerie (Jim) Green, Dayton, OH and Claudette (Ken) Froehle, Salt Lake City, UT; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Marvin (B.J.), California; 3 sisters, Barbara Faye, California, Rita Hamm, Melrose, MN and Eva Mae Bergeron, Crookston, MN; sister-in-law, Althea Theroux, Tucson, AZ. Preceded in death by wife, Pauline, parents, brothers, Paul and Gary and sister, Dorothy. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2005 at St. Joseph's Church, Red Lake Falls, MN. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Red Lake Falls. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2005 at St. Joseph's Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with a 5:30 p.m. prayer service and for one hour prior to service at the church, Friday.
