LAWRENCE — L. Raymond Thibeault, 80, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at his home in Lawrence.Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Henri and Josephine Thibeault. Raymond was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Rita (Vaillancourt) Thibeault.He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence and attended local schools. He was a veteran of World War II, and served with distinction in the United States Navy as a machine operator, receiving the World War II Victory Medal, and the American Area Medal for service in the European, African, Middle Eastern, Middle Asiatic and Pacific regions.For many years, he was employed as a machine operator for AT&T, and retired in 1984. He was a lifetime member of the Lawrence Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.Mr. Thibeault is survived by three sisters, Gloria Maheu of Lawrence, Theresa Deloge of Lawrence, and Gertrude Frizzell of Derry, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews.ARRANGEMENTS: Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Scott Funeral Home, 298 South Broadway, Lawrence.
