Raymond Gilles THIBEAULT

Raymond Gilles Thibeault, 66, of Pittsburg, died on Monday, August 8, 2005 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, from injuries received in a fall at his Halls Stream farm on August 6. He was born on February 13, 1939 in Pittsburg, the son of Joseph and Rose Ida (Marquis) Thibeault. Mr. Thibeault attended St. Albert School in West Stewartstown and Canaan High School in Canaan. He was married to Louisette Marie Marchand on October 17, 1959. He first owned a pulp truck before driving a gas route for his brother, Adrien Thibeault, for a short time. In 1963 he purchased the family dairy farm from his father. He maintained nearly 200 head of cattle and in the mid 1970s was awarded the Soil Conservation Award for the State of New Hampshire. Mr. Thibeault enjoyed working on his tractors, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and taking trips with his wife, but he received the most joy by spending time with his grandchildren, Kate and Eric. Mr. Thibeault is survived by his wife of 45 years, Louisette Marie (Marchand) Thibeault of Pittsburg; a son Richard, and his wife Pauline of Pittsburg; a daughter, Denise Lind of West Franklin; three brothers, Adrien and his wife Noella Thibeault of Canaan, Normand and his wife Georgette Thibeault of South Carolina, and Maurice and his wife Maria Thibeault of Haverhill, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Hughes of Harvard, Mass., and Mrs. Hasen (Jeannine) Burns of West Stewartstown; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by an infant son, Claude, and a sister, Pauline. Known for his generosity in life, his family gave to the New England Organ Bank at the time of his death. Calling hours were held on Thursday afternoon and even-ing, August 11, and on Friday morning at the Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday morning, August 12, by the Reverend Craig Cheney at the Church of the Assumption in Canaan, followed by burial at St. Brendan's Cemetery in Colebrook. Donations in memory of Mr. Thibeault may be sent to the Raymond G. Thibeault Memorial Fund, in care of Rosemary Mulliken, First Colebrook Bank, 132 Main Street Colebrook, NH 03576. These funds will be donated to the Pittsburg and Beecher Falls Rescue Squads and to the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook.
