Edith I. TORCHIO

WALLINGFORD - Edith I. (Torchio) Gariepy, 90, formerly of Laurelview Park and Hillsview Road, Wallingford, died, Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Coccomo Health Care Center in Meriden. She was beloved wife of the late Louis L. Gariepy.Mrs. Gariepy was born in North Haven, May 28, 1915, a daughter of the late John and Teresa (Pastrone) Torchio, and had been a lifelong Wallingford resident. She had been employed as an office worker by the International Silver Company in Wallingford. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church and an avid bingo player.She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine G. Laherty of Wallingford; her two sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald L. Gariepy of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Robert J. and Vicki L. Gariepy of Chester, N.J.; six great grandchildren, Gary Wheaton, Paul Wheaton, Lisa Tomer and her husband, Thomas, Ronald Gariepy Jr., Laurie Gariepy and Megan Gariepy; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Rosamond Ahearn.Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4 until 8 p.m. in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
