Harold (Hal) Paul Toussaint Loving Husband and Father passed on to be with his heavenly father on December 11, 2005 at the age of 88. Hal is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Alva June Toussaint, son Dan Harold Toussaint of Scotts Valley, California, daughters Janet Lynn Toussaint Schulze of Scotts Valley, California, Lory June Toussaint Moses of Elko, Nevada, his sister Rose Carvalho of Auburn, California. Additionally he is survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, brothers and by his great grandchild Lose Maureen Pohahau. He was born September 6, 1917 in Greeley, Colorado to Joseph and Dora Toussaint. He moved to California in 1923 In his youth Hal was a boxer, both in the amateur and professional ranks. He was a Golden Glove Champion of California as well as Pacific Coast Inter-Collegiate Champion. He fought a total of 106 fights winning all but 6. Hal attended San Jose State University, graduating with a degree in Police Administration. He became an officer with the San Jose Police Department, holding positions of Patrolman to Sergeant Detective. He served on the Police Department for 29 years. Hal served his country in the United States Army during WWII as a Military Policeman and returned to the San Jose Police Department after his enlistment. After retiring from the Police department, Hal became a Private Investigator for a number of years and also became an avid golfer playing frequently with his friends and family. Friends are invited to a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Santa Cruz Bible Church, 440 Frederick St. Santa Cruz, California.
