BERLIN, NH -- Ann T. Fortin, 66, of 1941 Riverside Dr., Berlin, NH, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 8, 1938 in Berlin daughter of the late Maurice L. and Marjorie (Butler) Townsend. Her husband, Leopold G. (Paul) Fortin, passed away June 5, 2004. Mrs. Fortin was a 1960 graduate of the University of New Hampshire and a member of the United Church of Christ of Berlin. She was a Title One Teacher at the Brown School for 27 years. She is survived by two sons; James W. Fortin and his wife Sharon, and Paul S. Fortin and his wife Shelli, both of Gorham; two brothers; David Townsend of Berlin, and John Townsend and his wife Darleen of Wolcott, VT; six grandchildren; Scott, Kyle, Taylor, Libby, Noah and Lilla and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be celebrated 11a.m. Thursday, April 21, at the United Church of Christ, 921 Main St., Berlin, NH., with Rev. Miryam Hammond officiating. A Memorial visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St., Berlin, NH. Interment will be in St. Kieran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brown School Library, 190 Norway St., Berlin, NH, 03570, or a charity of donors’ choice.
