Gereva TREMBLAY

TREMBLAY, Gereva - Age 89, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully November 26, 2005 at Genesys Convalescent Center in Grand Blanc. Gereva was born February 7, 1916, in Lake City Michigan. Graduated Flint Central High School, and earned her L.P.N. Nursing Degree from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing. She later worked as a Nurse with the Visiting Nurses Association of Genesee County. Gereva Married, Albert E. Tremblay, in 1966, and later retired from nursing to devote her time to community service. She became President of the Grand Blanc Women's Club, Grand Blanc Twentieth Century Club, and was first Founding President, the Grand Blanc Heritage Association. Gereva was Co-Chairman of the Grand Blanc Bi-Centennial Commission, and was instrumental in locating and securing the land for the Grand Blanc Bi-Centennial Park. She was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc, and was Superintendent of Sunday School, and the enrollment increased from 30 to 120, while she administered the program. She was within 2 testing days of receiving her degree in Theology from the Flint Bible Institute, when she suffered a stroke, April 22, 1987, at which time she became a resident of the Genesys Convalescent Center. Gereva became a member of the Grand Blanc Holy Family Catholic Church. Gereva, was survived by: her husband, Albert; sister, Mary Ann Howay; daughters, Beverly Helmboldt, and Carol Relyea; and son, Calvin Buell and Phillip Tremblay; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Immediate Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Published in the Flint Journal on 12/1/2005.
