Theresa L. Szinyei, 85, of Merrimac Street, Danbury, wife of the late Joseph Szinyei, died peacefully at Filosa Convalescent Center on Friday, September 23, 2005.Theresa was born in Salem, Mass., November 19, 1919, daughter of the late Prank and Clara (Dagenais) Tremblay.She graduated from the St. Joseph Academy in Massachusetts and had worked as a clerk in Newtown Town Hall for many years, prior to her retirement. She had lived in Norwalk before moving to Danbury and had worked with the American Red Cross during World War II. She had been a proud Cub Scout Den mother in Newtown and was known as a master seamstress by her beloved family and friends.She is survived by her sons, Andrew Treffs, of Danbury and Joseph Treffs, of Highland Falls, N.Y.; a daughter, Elaine Zeitlin, of Stonington; and a stepson, Jay Szinyei, of Houston; as well as seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews.She was predeceased by four brothers and a sister.Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.There will be no calling hours.Green Funeral Home, 57, Main St., Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief, P.O.
