Rita T. Charbonneau of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully in the company of her children on Saturday December 17, 2005 the age of 85 years. Born Kathleen Rita Trevett on July 27, 1920 in Blasedell, NY, she was a graduate of Ithaca College class of 1941. Rita was married on April 25, 1945 to Raymond J. Charbonneau of Cohoes, NY. Their life together lasted fifty six years until his passing in 2001. She lived most her life as a devoted wife and mother in upstate New York and later as a beloved grandmother and great grandmother in Florida and most recently Phoenix. Throughout her life Rita was an active housewife and mother, elementary school teacher and a prolific volunteer in local schools and hospitals. She was also an avid golfer and member of the Albany Curling Club, and spent many long hours creating needlepoint art for her family and neighbors. Rita is survived by her children Karl Charbonneau of Phoenix, Robert Charbonneau of Danville, CA, Mary Goutos of Diamond Point, NY and Raymond Charbonneau of Aurora, CO. as well as nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. We will all miss Rita's warm and loving nature her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She has given great strength to all around her through her life, in particular in her later years. A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10815 North 35th Avenue, Phoenix. Published in The Arizona Republic on 12/20/2005.
