BIRBECK, "Bill", At West Park, St. Catharines on Thursday, February 26th, 2004, in his 80th year. Beloved husband of 59 years to Marie (Corbiere) Birbeck of Thorold. Loving father of Michael Birbeck (Linda) and Alan Birbeck (Sheila), all of Thorold and the late Tracy Marie Tattrie (September 19th, 1990). Loved grandfather of Marcus Miller and Billy Tattrie. Predeceased by two brothers Ian and Joseph Birbeck. Bill was a Veteran of World War II. A Past-President and Life Member of the Royal Canad ian Legion Branch 17, Thorold and the Canadian Corps Unit 44, Thorold. A member of the Royal Canadian Navy Club, Niagara Falls and the Legion Conservation Club. He retired in 1984 from the Ontario Paper Company after 37 years. The family will receive their friends at the KARL A. HAMMOND FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Saturday, February 28th at 9:30 a.m. with The Rev. Canon Dr. Cathie Crawford Browning officiati ng. Interment in the Veteran's Section at Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold.
