Jean Marie TYSON

JEAN TYSON DuVAL JUNE 7, 1921 - APRIL 5, 2005 Jean Marie Tyson DuVal, graduated from this mortal existence in Orem, Utah April 5, 2005, at 83 years of age. Jean was born June 7, 1921, in Harrisville, Michigan to Samuel Tyson and Nora Mabel Jennings Tyson.Jean's Michigan State College Education was interrupted by teaching school in Glennie, Michigan for two years. She then enlisted in the US Army Medical Corp where she served as a Physical Therapist during and after World War II. After release from active duty Jean returned to Michigan State University and received her degree.On July 21, 1951, Jean Marie Tyson and Virgil Lee Holley DuVal were married in The United Methodist Church in Glennie, Michigan. They were blessed with two children, Deborah Lynne DuVal and Gregory Scott DuVal. The DuVal family were converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1962. Jean served in many positions in the LDS Church primarily in Relief Society and Mutual in both ward and stake.Jean was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Deborah. She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, son, Gregory, his wife, Pamela, granddaughter, LeAnn DuVal Johnson with husband, Trey William Johnson and greatgrandson, Connor William Johnson, grandson, Gregory Thayer DuVal, and granddaughter, Paige Mikel DuVal.Funeral arrangements were made at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem, Utah. Interment, after graveside services, will be in the family plot in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Groveland, California.
