BIRDSEY, Rita, At home, peacefully, on Sunday, February 29, 2004, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Sydney for 58 years. Loving mother to Wendy (Wm. Bailey), Suzan, Jill (B. Barber), Kevin and Kirk. Cherished grandmother of Tonya, Lucas, Andrea, Ari elle, Adrian, Damian, Rachel and Sebastian. Also survived by her brother Edward, his wife Audrey Doucette and several nieces and nephews. Rita will be remembered for her kindness, her endless energy and creativity, her collections and her history of volunteering. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Davids United Church on Friday, March 12 at 11 a.m. and will include tributes honouring her 50+ years of involvement with Girl Guides of Canada and her life membership in St. Davids and Distr ict Lioness. Donations for a Memorial Bench to be erected in St. Davids can be made at the service. Rita was cremated on March 2, 2004. 3/4/2004- ID3548080 - St. Catharines Standard
