Agnes E. VALOIS

AGNES E. VALOIS JANUARY 19, 1925 to APRIL 27, 2005 A lady with a volunteer heart, Agnes E. Valois volunteered for 18 years at Bellwood General Hospital in Bellflower. She was auxiliary president for many years. On April 27th, 2005, she passed away peacefully at home. Born January 19, 1925 in Bryn Mahr, PA. She moved to North Hollywood with her widowed mother after high school and worked as a bank teller for many years. While on vacation in Hawaii, she met Andre Valois who was returning to Saudi Arabia where he worked as harbor pilot for Aramco. After corresponding for a while, they met in Beirut, Lebanon and married at the American Community Church in 1964. They returned to live permanently in Bellflower, CA in 1970. Agnes worked at May Company in Lakewood and Andy became captain o f USC marine research vessel Velero IV until retiring in 1983. She is survived by husband, Andy; and his daughter, Jeanette Platt of Cocoa, Florida; also by Andy's granddaughter, Nanette Morganti; and four great grandchildren in East Aurora, NY. Memorial service will be held Monday, May 2nd at 11:00am at First Missionary Baptist Church of Bellflower, 9246 Rosser St. Published in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on 4/30/2005.
