WHITEFIELD-- Ruth Jordan, 101, formerly of Prospect Street, died peacefully at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield on Tuesday, May 3, 2005.She was born in Pittsfield, Mass., the daughter of Charles and Blanche (Hewins) Vaugier.Mrs. Jordan moved to Whitefield with her husband in 1930, and had resided there ever since. She was very active in the United Methodist WomenÕs Group of the Trinity Methodist Church in Whitefield. She also volunteered countless hours to the American Red Cross in the area. She loved fishing in her spare time. Last year, she was presented with the Boston Post Cane as the town’s oldest resident.The family includes a son, Kenneth Jordan of Dalton; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Her husband, Kenneth, her son, Bruce and a granddaughter all died previously.A calling hour was held at the Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel on Friday, May 6. A service immediately followed at the chapel, and burial followed at the Park Street Cemetery in Whitefield.Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Residents Activity Fund, Morrison Nursing Home, 4 Terrace Street, Whitefield, NH 03598.Those wishing to sign an electronic register may log onto www.rossfuneral.com.
