Emma Rita VELLUCCI

BOSCAWEN -- Emma Rita (Vellucci) Deveau, 85, formerly of Henniker and North Reading, Mass., died Monday Nov. 21, 2005, at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen. Born in Cambridge, Mass., June 15, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Quintalina (Masci) Vellucci, and the sister of the late Alfred Vellucci, former mayor of the city of Cambridge, Mass. She was best known for her sense of humor and kindness to other people. She always loved the years that she resided in North Reading, Mass. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley May and her husband, Roy Richardson, of Henniker; her son, Joseph A. Deveau Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Medway, Mass.; five grandchildren, Stephen C. May of North Reading, Mass., Michael J. May and his wife, Nici, of North Andover, Mass., Brandon, Derek and Rianna Deveau; three great-grandchildren, Serenity, Mahalia and Michael J. May Jr.; and two step-grandchildren, Daryl and Evan Richardson of Plaistow. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., N. Reading, Mass. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., N. Reading, Mass. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Merrimack County Nursing Home, General Resident Fund, 325 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen 03303-2410.
