LEOMINSTER -- Elaine M. (Violette) Roy Carey, 79 years old, of 10 Lorenzo St., died Sunday. Mrs. Carey was born in Worcester, on Nov. 14, 1926, daughter of Rudolph and Marion (Duncan) Violette. She lived in Fitchburg, before moving to Leominster 30 years ago. Mrs. Carey graduated from Fitchburg High School and had owned and operated the former Pizzeria in Fitchburg and the former Diary Queen on Summer Street in Fitchburg. She had also worked at Fitchburg Gas & Electric Co. and most recently worked part-time at Bickford’s Family Restaurant in Leominster. Mrs. Carey was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Leominster. She is survived by two sons, Gilbert L. Roy and his wife, Joanne Roy, of Sebring, Fl. and William F. Roy of Wareham; three grandchildren, Jennifer A. Roy of Bradenton, Fl., Joelle C. Cilley of Hancock, N.H., and Maggie J. Roy of Wareham; and three great grandchildren. Her husband, Howard D. Carey, died in 1976. CAREY -- A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
