Carrie E. WASSON

Bourbonnais -- Carrie E. Surprenant, 87, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Harvey, died Thursday (Oct. 6, 2005) at Provena Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home. There will be no visitation or services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be in Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, is in charge of arrangements. She was born April 16, 1918, in Hurst, Texas, the daughter of Alexander and Pauline Ward Wasson. Her husband, Armand Surprenant, whom she married Oct. 11, 1941, at Ascension Catholic Church, Harvey, died Oct. 1, 1995. She was a former member of the First Christian Church in Harvey. She enjoyed bunco and canasta. She was a Cubs fan. Surviving are one son, Armand "Bud" Surprenant of Manteno; two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen and Bill Patton of Urbana, Judy Schurr of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Margaret Hindman of Herrin; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Alexander and Weldon Wasson.
