FRANKLIN -- Jean Carol (Wentworth) Masse, 54, of Terrace Road, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a short illness. She was born in New London, May 6, 1951, daughter of the late Ralph J. and Yvonne "Dot" (Hall) Wentworth. Jean was a lifelong resident of Franklin and graduate of Franklin High School. She went on to study occupational and respiratory therapy in Massachusetts. For several years she was employed with the Peabody Home in Franklin and later worked with the Visiting Nurse Association of Franklin for many years. Jean loved nature, the outdoors and the ocean. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Franklin. Her family includes her husband, John A. Masse of Franklin; her son, Robert R. Hawthorne of Houston; his father, Robert J. Hawthorne of White Lake, N.C.; her stepson, John A. Masse of Franklin; her sister, Joan W. Brouillard of Franklin; her brother, Jeffrey R. Wentworth of Tilton; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 1 to 3 p.m. at William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road, Tilton. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the spring at Franklin Cemetery in Franklin.
