Marguerite E. Wittenburg, age 95, of New City, New York , passed away August 19, 2005. Born in Alsace Lorraine December 1, 1909, she lived in several European countries before she settled in New York. Margery was a devout Catholic, prayerfully serving her God and remained a faithful servant until her death. Margery was an accomplished musician. She played the organ for St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw for many years. She also contributed her talents to St. Paul's Church in Congers and St. Augstine's in New City. Margery was a foreign language teacher for the Nanuet Public School District for over twenty five years. She is survived by those she touched through the years by her musical talents and her linguistic abilities. She is survived by her loving friends and neighbors: Alice Conrad, Gregory and Cathy Hinds, Ama Darkoa, Hannah Brown and Nancy Harle. She will be sadly missed by Peggy and Tom Zugibe and family who had a special relationship with her. Visitation will be held Sunday evening 7 to 9 PM and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the George M. Holt Funeral Home, Inc., 50 New Main Street, Haverstraw, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10 AM, August 23, 2005 at St. Peter's Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY.
