MCMURRAY, IDA GERTRUDE nee FITZPATRICK — WWII Veteran member of the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service WRCNS. Peacefully 7 February 2009 with her family at her side at Trenton Memorial Hospital. Ida McMurray of Spring Creek Farm, English Settlement, Murray Ward in her 87th year. Daughter of the late David and Bertha (Heritage) Fitzpatrick of Trenton. Beloved wife of Gerald McMurray (deceased)(married for 65 years). Loving mother of Roger (Helen), Wayne (deceased) (Joann), Patricia (Robert), Kathryn (Ross), Donna (James), Michael (Valerie), Brian (Cheryl), Laurie (John), Lois (Dale), Tracey (Scott). Dear sister of Albert (deceased) (Alice) Newton, Luella Dyer (deceased)( nee Newton) Major Dyer/“Mac“ McTaggart WWII Veterans (both deceased), Flossie (deceased) (Emerson) (deceased) Clark (nee Fitzpatrick), Sister Mary Fitzpatrick (Sisters of Providence Kingston), Johanna Peterson (nee Fitzpatrick) (Gerald)(deceased), Patsy Zelinsky (Fitzpatrick) Sister-in-law to Victor McMurray (Barbara deceased), Clillard McMurray (deceased) Evelyn, Clarke McMurray (deceased WWII H&PER), Shirley St. Amour (Gerald deceased), Betty Ashton (Donald deceased), and Joyce Amodeo (William deceased). Sadly missed by her children, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ida lived and spent her childhood in the town of Trenton and was a gifted scholar and Teacher by profession. She was retired from DND Supply Section, CFB Trenton. As a Mother she devoted her life to her children and was their rock in both calm and stormy waters. In accordance with Ida's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of Ida's life will be held at a later date TBA. Mother and Dad's ashes will be intermingled and interred at the Vernonville Cemetery at a later date/time TBA.
