CALDWELL, Michael Raymond - Peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Mike was born October 7, 1952 at Trenton Memorial Hospital. He lived in Frankford for a short time before moving to Newburg where he grew up. In 1979 he married Brenda and moved back to Trenton where they put down roots. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors, his family and his friends. There were two sides to Mike - his public side and his private side. He didn't let many people see the private side but those who have know a different Mike. This Mike had a huge heart and he would help anyone who needed it. Many pets wandered into our lives and at first there would be a lot of noise about finding a new home; immediately - “No more animals“, but within minutes the kitten or puppy or hamster would be in Mike's arms being told that this one could stay. Mike will be missed by his wife and friend Brenda, his son David, sister Paddi (Brad) Sinclair of Newburgh, brother-in-law Carl Kaestner (Linda) of Napanee. Remembered by nephews Jordan and Evan Sinclair, Bob and Jason Kaestner and Grant and Brandon who were like second sons. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and friends. Predeceased by his parents Allan and Eileen Caldwell, his parents-in-law Reg and Betty Galbraith and his daughter Meghan Caldwell. Following Mike's wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of his life will take place in the Spring. “Remember him with a smile. He lived life his way“. Memorial Donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of the RUSHNELL FUNERAL CENTRE, 60 Division Street, Trenton (613-392-2111).
