Mr. Victor Richard McKay October 24, 1930 - February 11, 2009 Mr. Victor Richard McKay, age 78, beloved father, grandfather and great- grandfather passed away peacefully at Paradise Path of the Herb Bassett Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, from River Park Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, from River Park Memorial Chapel - 301 River Street West. Reverend Dewey McClintock will officiate. The late Mr. McKay is survived by his loving family; seven children Frieda Leask of Prince Albert, SK, Carol (George) Adams of MacDowall, SK, Gary of Prince Albert, Sandra (Earl) Woods of Holbein, SK, Patricia Vermette of Prince Albert, SK, Susan Pelech of Smeaton, SK, Michael (Judy) McKay of Prince Albert, SK. Twenty-three grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; five brothers Gilbert (Christina) McKay of Green Lake, SK, Donald (Carol) McKay of Prince Albert, SK, Ben (Myrna) McKay of Prince Albert, SK, Arnold (Shirley) McKay of Prince Albert, SK, Larry (Della) McKay of Prince Albert, SK; one sister Evelyn (Dave) Fidler of Prince Albert, SK. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Alma (nee Morin); his son Murray; his parents Walter and Mary McKay; his sister Ruby Umpherville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Cora Morin. Victor was born on October 24, 1930 in the Glen Mary District. Victor in his younger years enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, walking, and working on vehicles. He enjoyed the company of his family and looked forward to family gatherings where he could reminisce. He got up early every morning to have a cup of coffee and read the newspaper. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. It is the family's request that those preferring to place memorials in lieu of other tributes may do so to Paradise Path of the Herb Bassett Home. Cremation will follow the funeral with interment of cremated remains at a later date in Garden of Memories, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
