Marie Isabelle SCELO

SCELO, Maryse (Marie Isabelle) - in loving memory of our wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who, at the age of 81, has found rest. Like her husband François, who predeceased her in November, 2008, she was a veteran of the French army and came to Canada with her young family in search of adventure. Maryse lead a full and active life, as secretary to United Steel Workers of America in Collingwood, actress, Girl Guide leader, Sunday School Teacher, Night School Teacher, member of the United Church Ladies Auxiliary and Business Women's Organization, and volunteer for the Collingwood Music Society and C.C.I Marching Band. She was a skier, champion swimmer, tennis player, bridge player, and member of the town choir. When she found time she catered many large functions and weddings. Her retirement and subsequent move to Ingersoll did not slow her down as she became very actively involved with Sacred Heart Church, serving as President of the Catholic Women's League. Maryse was a chef par excellence, a wonderful hostess, a fine seamstress, a knitter and an animal lover. She adored children and worked with them at any given chance. Predeceased by son Richard, she leaves behind a large extended family in France, including 6 surviving brothers and sisters. Her teachings, her strength of character, and her amazing creativity will continue to affect the lives of her children and grandchildren. . . son John (Deborah) and children Danielle (Kelsey) and Brittany (Joe), daughter Lilyane (Ian) and children Jessica (Sheldon), Nicolas Jason (Angela), Alexia (Bertrand) and great grand children Mikylla, Dawson, Ryan and Katelynne. A private family service conducted by Ted Winter was held at the MCBEATH-DYNES FUNERAL HOME in Ingersoll on Monday March 2nd.
