MAYLE, John (Jack), After a courageous battle, on Sunday, July 11, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on May 3, 1920. Beloved and devoted husband for 59 years to Jean (Gibson). Cherished father of Patricia (Thomas) McIl moyle of Chatham, Sheila (Nicholas) Nicolichuk of St. Catharines, and Leslie Chilcott and Richard Dewes of Hamilton. Loving Grandpa of Michael (Colleen) McIlmoyle of London, Dr. Richard (Natalie) McIlmoyle of Victoria, B.C., James Chilcott and Jennif er Sirard, both of St. Catharines and great-grandpa of Connor, Kate and Kylan. Also survived by his sisters Peggy Finlay (late John) of Glasgow, Scotland, Winnie Cochrane (late William) and Helen (Jackie) Fair, all of St. Catharines. Predeceased by h is granddaughter Katherine (1986), and brothers William and Jim (Olive) Mayle in England. Jack apprenticed at Weirs of Cathcart of Glasgow, Scotland. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Merchant Navy - later transferring to the Royal Navy from 19 43 - 1946 as a Sub Lieutenant - Engineer. He retired from John Deere in 1985 as a First Class Stationary Engineer. Jack's family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 from 2-4 an d 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Julia Church (corner of Glen Morris Dr. & Glenridge Ave.) on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Vigil prayers will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. In accordance with Jack's wishes, cremation wi ll take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in Jack's name to the Lung Association, P.O.
