JOHNSTON, Colin Eaton, Passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31, 2004 in his 85th year at the St. Catharines General Hospital surrounded by his family. Colin was the husband, companion and best friend of his wife Gloria (Peters). A loving father who leaves behind a family who cherished every moment they had with him. Left with love and memories are Roger (Eileen), Linda Grant (Terry), Jill BeGora (Dennis), Colin (Ruth) and Susan Barwell (Bernie). He is the grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Lillias, brothers Robert and Gordon, sisters Rhea and Mary, and loving granddaughter Virginia. Colin was a longtime resident of Port Dalhousie and founded Colin E. Johnston Insurance in 19 46. He was a past President of the Port Dalhousie Loins Club, past Commodore of the Dalhousie Yacht Club, a member of the Seymour Masonic Lodge, and a lifetime member of St. John's Anglican Church. Colin touched many lives and was loved and respected by many. The family would like to thank the staff at the Intensive and Progressive Care Units at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Walele, Dr. Mackett and Progressive Care Unit Nurse Tammy Robertson for their care, compassio n and kindness. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, on Tuesday, August 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will take place on August 4th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Anglican Church (Port Dalhousie). If so desire d, donations to the C.N.I.B., the Ontario Fibromyalgia Association or St. John's Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.
