SOHMER, Loretta Audrey - In the loving arms of her husband and four children, Loretta Audrey Sohmer (Petrunia) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday August 12, 2004. Beloved wife and best friend for 50 years of David Sohmer, Loving mother of Linda Wallace, David Sohmer, Penny Cheynowski and Susan Legros and their spouses. Treasured grandmother of David, Lindsay and Kristy Wallace, Katie and Matthew Cheynowski, and Alexis and Andrew Legros. She is also survived by her loving sister Theresa Qua and her family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Anna Petrunia. Loretta was born September 19, 1935 in Lethbridge, Alberta and later moved to St. Catharines where she was raised. After marrying in 1954, she spent 5 years living and working in the Bronx, New York and moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario in 1959 to raise her family. She committed her life to her husband, children and grandchildren and we will all carry her in our hearts forever. At the request of Loretta, a private family ceremony and interment has taken place. A Memorial Mass for freinds and family will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tender Wishes Foundation would be appreciated.
