DAVIS, Norman Edward - Born February 4th, 1918, Norman entered peacefully into eternal rest at Hardy Terrace, on Thursday, March 26th, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Hilda (1919-2007) (nee Burtch), his wife of 63 years. Devoted Dad to Eleanor (Alan) Dutkewich, Barbara (Loren) Fleming and John. Fun-loving “Grandpa“ to Christine (Todd) Page, Lynn (Christopher) Due, Katherine (Michael) DeWachter, Rebecca Dutkewich, Benjamin (Kelly) Fleming, Charissa (Blair) Sillanpaa, Peter (Becky), Simon and Timothy Fleming. Great- grandfather of 7 + 1 soon to be born. Predeceased by his parents Alfred (1883- 1963) and Eleanor (1888-1954) (nee Eadie). The last of twelve brothers and sisters, Fred (1909-1996), Elvin (1915- 1975), Glenford (1912-2004), Vallera McLean (1914-2000), Victor (1915-1975), Earl (1919-2004), Leonard (1921-2000), Lena Crickmore (1922-2005), Edgar (1924- 1925), Clarence (1925-2006), and Edna Galer (1927-1999). Norman was born and raised in Burtch, and worked the farm on Cockshutt Road from 1944 to 2003. His last few years have been spent brightening the lives of staff and residents alike at Hardy Terrace. Thanks to the staff of Hardy Terrace for loving him as much as his family does. He has been active throughout his life in the Burtch Baptist Church, and in the Foresters. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Ave. on Sunday from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to the Burtch Baptist Church would be appreciated.
