REID, Irene - At the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday, August 29, 2004, in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Allan. Loving mother of Doug (his wife Linda) and Tom (his wife Patty). Cherished grandmother of Rebecca Reid, Charmaine Reid and Jennifer Reid (her husband E.J. George) and great grandmother to Lauren, Erica and Vanessa George. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Robert, sisters Alma Jackson and Betty McColl, a brother William Near and her parents William and Margaret Near. Irene worked for many years as a Bell Telephone operator and supervisor and was a member of St. Andrew's Knox Presbyterian Church. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie, entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time in the Benner Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
