LANGLOIS, Jack Gerald - (1943-2004) - "Happy Jack" Langlois fought a brave battle against cancer for the past two years. He passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2004 as gently as he lived his life, in the comfort of his home, close to his loving wife Pierrette (nee Genest). Funeral arrangements have been made for visitations at the McGuinty Funeral Home today, September 1, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Church on Airport Road on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. Jack lived his life with humility and integrity; a gentle and kind youth, a devoted Catholic, a dedicated worker who knew what "serving" the public really meant - working at the Nugget and especially the North Bay Bus Terminal. Returning to school in his fifties, Jack's proudest achievement was joining the small business community by opening his very own "Happy Jack's" Cleaners on Fisher Street. Grateful for the support of his closest friends and family, Jack served his clientele with humble pride. All who knew him will miss Jack's gentle nature, loyalty and kindness. It will however be the cherished memories of laughter and shared times with "Happy Jack" that each person will always remember. We wish him the joy of eternal peace. Jack was predeceased by his mother Bertha Langlois (nee Gaudette) and his father Oscar Langlois; his sister Pearl Morrison (husband Roger), and brothers Lionel Langlois (wife Isabel), and Ron Langlois (wife Pat). Jack is survived by his sisters Yollande Burke (husband Teddy), Juanita Kennedy (deceased husband Jack), Fleurette O'Kane (deceased husband Russ) Jacqueline Pigeau (husband Eddie), Carmel Ouellette (husband Dennis), Claudette Buggie (deceased husband Al), and his brothers Gilles Langlois (wife Leona), Norman Langlois (wife Edie) and Fern Langlois (wife Gail). Donations, in Jack's name, may be made to the Northeastern Regional Cancer Centre, the Victorian Order of Nurses or the Canadian Red Cross Society.
