MacDONALD, John 2009-04-04 MacDONALD It is with the greatest sadness that the family of John Angus MacDonald announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospice. John was born in Fort William on November 1, 1930 and married the love of his life, Ann Gronski, in 1951. he was a long time employee of the City of Thunder Bay, an executive member of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association, an elder of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 415. Family was the most important part of John’s life. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ann, his daughters Aury (Gerry) Murray of Etobicoke, Ontario and Heidi Strbavy of Thunder Bay. He was a wonderful grandfather to Anna Murray of Mississauga, Ontario, John Murray (Alexandra Bono) of London, England, William (Tricia) Murray of Rockwood, Ontario, Dennis Strbavy (Shanna Duff) of Thunder Bay and Carolyn (Jason) Veneruzzo of Thunder Bay, He was especially thrilled to be the great-grandfather of Megan Rose Murray of Rockwood, Ontario. He will also be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Rose Dokuchic of Thunder Bay and nephew David Bass of St. Jacob’s, Ontario. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Brodie Street, on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Bert Vancook officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations in John’s memory be made to either St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church or St. Joseph’s Hospice. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to all the medical teams involved in John’s care. Special thanks are extended to the wonderful, caring nurses of St. Joseph’s Hospice as well as Rev. Bert Vancook and Rev. Barbara Fugelsang for their compassion and guidance. Masonic Brethren are asked to assemble at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 4:45 p.m. for the service at 5:00 p.m. for our late brother John MacDonald.
