Joan HICKMAN

SHEPHERD, Joan Passed away peacefully on Oct. 14, 2004, after a brief illness at Sunrise Assisted Living at the age of 91. She is survived by a daughter Pam and son-in-law Ed Rock of Mitchell, who adored her. Also surviving are 3 loving grandchildren; Jeff Rock of Windsor, Steve Rock (Lynn) of Bayfield, Jodie Hansen (Dean) of Bedford, N.S. and 2 very precious great granddaughters Amanda and Emma Hansen of Bedford, N.S. Also surviving are special niece Penny Johnstone (Dave) and her family; a daughter Mary and grandsons Matthew and Alex, all of Oakville, and a son David of Kentucky. Other surviving family members are brother-in-law Doug (Merrenna) of Elliot Lake, brother-in-law George Johnstone of Ottawa, nieces Sandra and Connie, and nephews Tom, Rick and Devan. Predeceased by her husband Frederick Joseph Shepherd (1956), parents James and Alice Hickman, very special sister Mary Shepherd and her husband Dr. Grosvenor Shepherd, brothers-in-law Al Shepherd and wife Eleanor, George Shepherd and wife Violet and sister-in-law Ethel Johnstone, nephews James, Bill and Grant Shepherd and niece Barbara Shepherd. Very special thanks to long time dear friends Bev and Bill Timpson for their never-ending caring and help, the staff on 6th floor at Windsor Regional Hospital (Metropolitan Campus) especially Danielle and Rod, the staff of Sunrise Assisted Living who treat their residents like family and Rev. John McIllmurray for his special extra attention and kindness. Joan was a long time member of St. Aidan's Anglican Church and a 33 yr. volunteer in the Women's Auxilliary (gift shop) of Windsor Regional Hospital (Metropolitan Campus) retiring at the age of 89. Joan was known lovingly as L.G. or Little Grammie to all because of her petiteness. She is going to be missed immensely by everyone. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Aidan's Anglican Church, 5145 Wyandotte St. E , N8S 1L3 on Sunday, October 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains at Victoria Memorial Gardens. Your kindness of any donations can be made to St. Aidan's Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements entrusted to the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home and Cremation Centre.
