HARRIS, Donald McNally - Born in 1927 in Toronto to Beatrice Eleanor and Robert Inkerman Harris. He was the youngest of three boys. His brothers William Robert (Bob) and Irving Carlisle and their families will miss him. Don was lucky in love and married Suzanne Parry Lugsdin of Minneapolis in 1951. They lived in Owen Sound until 1967 where they had four children; Beatrice Anne, Sarah Isabel, John Alexander and William McNally. They moved to Toronto briefly then lived in North Bay for 20 years before retiring to Elora in 1992. Don lost two children in 1981 and his wife in 1994, but retained his love for life and community throughout. He was strong willed and forthright but an exceptional listener as well. Plagued, but undaunted, by heart problems for several years, Don succumbed to a major heart attack on Thursday, October 28, 2004 while doing what he enjoyed most; working. Don's children Bea and John, daughter-in-law Lin, grandchildren Jamie, David, Thomas and Allyson, son-in-law Terry and sister-in-law Mary and his best friend David Copp encourage all of Don's friends to celebrate his life in person, or in thought, at St. John's Anglican Church, Henderson Street, Elora at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2004. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Elora Centre for the Arts at 75 Melville Street, Elora, Ontario, N0B 1S0 or St. John's Anglican Church Building Fund, Henderson Street, Elora, Ontario, N0B 1S0.
