Mrs. Dorothy Evelyn Weston April 25, 1921 - April 27, 2009 WESTON, Dorothy Evelyn 88, of Halifax, passed away peacefully Monday, April 27, 2009, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, with her loving family by her side. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (MacDonald) Brunt. A faithful member of Bayers Road United Baptist Church, she was active in various church groups and a past member of West End United Baptist Church and also an active supporter of the Salvation Army. She volunteered at the old Halifax Infirmary and various other organizations. Women for Music of the Nova Scotia Symphony was also very important to her. A loving mother, grandmother and friend, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are sons, Kenneth "Ken" (Margaret) Weston, Everett "Harold" Weston, both of Halifax; brothers, Roy (Dorothy) Brunt, Edward (Phyllis) Brunt, both of Halifax; grandchildren, Tara (Dwayne) Isenor, Halifax; Holly Weston, Chicago; Cory Weston, Halifax; great-grandchild, Noah Isenor, Halifax. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Everett Weston; son, Brian in infancy and brother, Harold. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 30, at 1 p.m. in Bayers Road United Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Leslie McCurdy will officiate with interment to follow in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only by request, donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
