Anson Edward GILBERT

Mr. Anson Edward Gilbert February 23, 1924 - April 27, 2009 Gilbert, Anson Edward, D.F.C., passed away peacefully at the Georgian Manor, surrounded by his family, on Monday, April 27th, 2009 in his 86th year. Beloved Husband of sixty years of Flora (Terry) née Thompson. Cherished father of Wendy McLarty (Jim), Eric (Cathy), Brad (Marty), Jan, and predeceased by Jane. Devoted grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Anson will be sadly missed by his sister Barb Maunder, his brothers Bud, John and Gary, and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Public visitation will be held at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home on Friday, May 1st, 2009 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon, with a Legion service taking place at 11:45 a.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Georgian Manor Furnishings Fund would be appreciated
