Mrs. Bonnie "Gail" MacLean January 29, 1945 - April 28, 2009 64, of Dartmouth, passed away April 28, 2009, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Truro, January 29, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Linda (Fraser) Crowe (of Belmont). She was a member of Belmont Wesley United Church. Gail was an educator all her life, teacher, principal and administrator, retiring from the Inspection Services of the Department of Education in 1996. After her retirement, Gail set up an education program in Iqaluit. She was an avid reader and served as a judge on the Dartmouth Library Literary Award Committee and was a member of a local bookclub. She was interested in politics and was a member of the Liberal Party. Gail and Ralph enjoyed traveling the world until recently when her health declined. Gail is sadly missed by her husband, Ralph, Dartmouth; sister, Cheryl Crowe, Truro and several cousins. She will be missed by her beloved pets, Guy and Rhapsody. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A celebration of Gail's life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel, Dartmouth. Burial at a later date in MacDonald Memorial Cemetery, Boulardarie, Cape Breton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dartmouth General Hospital, Victorian Order of Nurses or charity of your choice.
