Mr. Carol Edward Dowling June 8, 1929 - April 28, 2009 DOWLING, Carol Edward "Carl" In his 80th year. It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, a son of the late Herbert and Anna (Martell) Dowling. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Kline); his brother, Donald; his sisters, Eileen and Valerie (Sampson); his son-in-law, Wayne Ernst. He is survived by his children, David (Gerry), Robert (Paula), Eileen (Ken), Anne-Marie (Paul), Bernard (Marie Josée), Ronald (Bernadette), Carolyn (Steven), Mark, Lawrence (Elaine), Geraldine (Tim), Eric (Monique), Cyril (Melody); 30 grandchildren; sisters, Marie Mombourquette, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Shirley (Jack) Cummins, Peterborough, Ont., and many nieces and nephews. Carl was employed at DND Halifax Dockyards as a Radar Electrician for 35 plus years retiring in 1988. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Melville Heights and to the healthcare professionals at 7.2 for their continued care and attention. The family will be receiving visitors in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayer's Rd., Halifax on Thursday, April 30th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 1st, at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Parish, Herring Cove Road, with Father Gerry Gauvreau CC, officiating. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only.
