TONG, Beryl On November 7, 2004, Beryl peacefully moved on to the next destination of her journey to enlightenment. Daughter of the late Lucy and Alfred Tong of Lincolnshire, England. Dear sister of Robert William (Bill) and companion Louise Reid of Chatham, Alfred, husband of the late Mary Tong of Windsor. Loved aunt of Lanny and Alan Tong. Beryl also leaves behind many cousins and friends world wide. Born in Windsor, she moved to Michigan in her late teens. She was employed by the Lou Gordan Show on WXYZ-TV. Then she moved on to "Arts Quarterly", the Detroit Institute of Art's magazine. Beryl retired in 1987 from the Michigan Council for the Arts. In 1994, she moved back to Windsor and enjoyed her retirement fully. A member of the Centres for Seniors Windsor, Beryl loved practising Tai Chi. In accordance with her wishes, cremation and interment has taken place. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Diabetes Association.
