ASA “MOE” MORISSETTE 1921-2004 The family announces with sorrow his death at the Timmins and District Hospital on Friday, November 26, 2004 at age 83 years. Beloved husband of Josephine Morissette (nee Nora) and dearest father of Brian (wife Holly) of Timmins. Loving grandfather of Laura Mandigo (Nigel) of London and Clint Morissette of Sudbury and great-grandfather of Ethan Mandigo. Dear brother Noe-Gilles “Slim” (wife Naomi) of Cornwall, Roger of Aurora, Ehude "Charlie" (wife Jacqueline) of Timmins, Patrice “Toby” (wife Antoinette) of Timmins and Marie Ouimette (husband Phillipe) also of Timmins. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Henrietta Morissette of Timmins. Moe was also very fond of his dog Maggie who will surely miss his presence. Predeceased by his parents Patrice and Marie Morissette and his siblings Henry, Rita, Hermaine, Rene and Leo. Moe was born in 1921 in Bouchette, Quebec and came to Timmins in 1925. At age 17, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and became a decorated WWII veteran who served overseas. After the war, he and his wife Josephine were married December 28, 1946 here in Timmins. For most of his life he worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. He later taught Mechanics at Northern College until his retirement in 1986. Moe was a very dedicated and proud life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #88. He has served on the executive as both a Board member and President for many years and was very involved in the Poppy Campaign. Moe was also a very caring man who was known to visit many sick veteran’s in hospital. He will be fondly remembered not only for his love and dedication to his wife and family but to his country as well. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2004 from Sacred Heart Church. Interment Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the charity of your choice or the Ontario Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will recieve friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S. - 11/27/2004 - ID5276583
