VERNA KELLY (Agnes Veronica) (Nee Sweeney) 1911-2004 It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Verna Kelly at the Timmins and District Hospital on Saturday, November 27th, 2004 at the age of 93 years. Verna was born in Cobalt in 1911 and moved to Timmins in 1933. She was the beloved wife of the late Allen Kelly (1984) and dear mother of Frank Kelly (Nan) of Richmond Hill, Marlene Kelly (a Grey Sister) of Ottawa and Michael Kelly (Maureen) of Schumacher. Grandmother of Andrew (Karen), Christopher (Astrid), Tim and Ann Marie. Great grandmother of Precious Sky and Hayden. She will be sadly missed by her remaining sister Claire Middleton, her many nieces and nephews as well as her step- grandchildren Trish Delbel (Gary), their children, John McCann (Tracy) and their child. Verna was a faithful member of the Catholic Women’s League both at Nativity Parish in Timmins and later at St. Alphonsus Parish in Schumacher. She was also a member of the funeral choir at Nativity for many years. Verna was a gentle, caring and accepting woman with a great sense of humour. She was devoted to her family and Church. She did many things in her quiet way such as working in the kitchen for the C.W.L. (Catholic Women’s League) teas, knitting many mittens, baby bonnets and sweaters for the Bazaars, as well as looking after the linens at Nativity Church long after she no longer belonged to that Parish. Verna never looked for praise and thanks for all the little things she did. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Extendicare nursing home in Schumacher for the kindness and care they gave to our mother. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from St. Alphonsus Church in Schumacher, Fr. Pat Lafleur officiating. Interment will follow at the Tisdale Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Lord’s Kitchen would be greatly appreciated. The family received friends on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St., S., Timmins. - 12/1/2004 - ID5297615
